Spirit Filled Living
Bible Study
Thursdays @ 1:00pm
Meeting Room 1
Led by Rev. Jim Webb
This is a Drop-In Class: so each meeting is different and new. No worries if you have not come before or skipped a few weeks! Just come! Please be sure to check the Calendar to see if the group is meeting that week!

What is Lectio Divina?

Lectio Divina is the spiritual discipline of meditating on Scripture, also known as contemplative Bible reading. It involves slowly and prayerfully reading and re-reading short passages of the Bible, then listening to see how God connects His Word to our lives.

The goal is not intellectual knowledge but conversational intimacy with God. We’re not necessarily seeking information as much as we are seeking transformation. Conventional Bible study focuses mainly on our minds' intellectual interpretation of Bible passages. Lectio Divina (LD) (contemplative study) asks us What to pray for? What to challenges us? What encourages us? LD encourages us to integrate what we learn into our daily lives.

Women's Tuesday Night Bible Study

Tuesdays @ 6:30pm
Room 117
Led by Rev. Tracee Hackel & Terry Shores
This class takes place at the same time as our Men's Bible Study group.
You're invited to join us Tuesday evenings for a seven-week Bible study exploring "A Jesus-Shaped Life" by Lisa Harper—a powerful and approachable guide to deepening your relationship with God through sound, life-giving theology.
This study moves beyond just learning facts about God—it’s an invitation to experience the fullness of who He is. Theology isn't just for professors or seminarians; it's how we connect with our Redeemer and remember that we are His—and never alone.

Together, we’ll unpack rich theological truths such as:
-
Imago Dei – what it means to be made in God's image
-
Hypostatic Union – Jesus as fully God and fully human
-
Christ's Transcendence – His holiness, sovereignty, and eternal nature
-
Christ's Immanence – His nearness and presence in our lives
-
Coram Deo – living every moment in the presence of God
-
Pneumatology – understanding the role of the Holy Spirit

This class will be led by Rev. Tracee Hackel and Terry Shores, who will guide us through meaningful discussion, Scripture, and connection as we grow together in faith.

Whether you’re new to Bible study or have been on the journey a long time, you’ll find this group to be a welcoming and encouraging place to grow in Christ and community.
All women are welcome!
If you need a copy of the book, please contact the church office to order one. We can’t wait to walk this journey with you!

Men's Tuesday Night Bible Study

Tuesdays @ 6:30pm
Library
Led by Pastor Larry Shores
This class takes place at the same time as our Women's Bible Study group.
Paul urged believers in his day— and, by extension, urges Christians today—to walk in a manner worthy of your calling. In other words, as a follower of Christ, you have duties. A vocation. A life path to follow.
Thankfully, God empowers you for every step of that worthy walk.
All men are invited to join us on Tuesday nights for a time of Bible study, discussion, and spiritual growth. This group will focus on "Walk Worthy" by John MacArthur to explore relevant issues and timeless truths from God’s Word that speak into our everyday lives as men of faith.
Whether you're just starting out in your faith or have been walking with the Lord for years, this is a great opportunity to go deeper and connect with other men in a supportive, Christ-centered environment.
