"The Case for Easter"

Every year millions of people around the globe celebrate Easter. For many, the holiday is associated with church services, Sunday dinner with loved ones, and Easter egg hunts. These are excellent traditions that previous generations have passed down and we still enjoy today. But the events surrounding Easter are more than family traditions—they are the foundation of the Christian faith. Have you ever examined the truth claims associated with Holy Week and come to your own conclusions? Or is Easter a tradition that has been handed down to you by others? We will examine the story around the resurrection of Jesus and how you can know it’s true. In each session, we will explore:

  • Did Jesus really claim to be divine?

  • Was Jesus actually crucified, and did He die? Or did accounts of His resurrection develop from legends?

  • How did Jesus’ tomb end up empty?

  • How do we know that the eyewitness accounts of the resurrection are credible?

The Case for Easter will invite you to examine what you believe about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and determine what you believe about the most important questions of the Christian faith.

Women's Tuesday Night Bible Study

Tuesdays @ 6:30pm

Room 117

Led by Rev. Tracee Hackel & Terry Shores

This class takes place at the same time as our Men's Bible Study group.

Women’s Bible Study will begin a study of Max Lucado’s book:
Unshakeable Hope: Building Our Lives on the Promises of God. Join us as we learn more about what it means to live in the middle of a shaky world as citizens of God’s unshakeable Kingdom. Books will be available to purchase from the church office. If you have any questions please contact Terry Shores or the Church Office.

About the Book:

What feels shaky in your world? Maybe you feel hurt by the past, disappointed by the present, or worried about the future. If so, there is hope. For every problem in life, God has given you a promise.

In the New York Times bestselling book, Unshakable Hope, Max Lucado unpacks 12 of the Bible’s most significant promises, equipping you to overcome difficult circumstances by keeping your focus on the hope found in the promises of Scripture.

Whether it’s heart disease or cancer, job failure or addiction, natural disasters or family disasters, mass murders or mental illness, there are so many reasons to be overwhelmed and hope can feel hard to come by. Now more than ever, we need the definitive declarations of our mighty and loving God.

In this book, you will be reminded that God’s promises are irrevocable because:

  • God is unchanging

  • God is faithful

  • God is strong

  • God cannot lie

What is your life built on—the circumstances of life or the promises of God? The answer to that question changes everything. Join Max as he takes a closer look at Scripture’s unbreakable promises and shows you how to live with unshakable hope.

Men's Tuesday Night Bible Study

Tuesdays @ 6:30pm

Room 112

Led by Pastor Larry Shores & Rev. Jim Webb

This class takes place at the same time as our Women's Bible Study group.

Prayer is an incredible gift, and it has incredible power. But for most of us, there's an equally incredible gap between our own experiences of prayer and Jesus' promises about it. Why is that? What are our roadblocks in praying as Jesus did? How can we discover the power of prayer in our own lives?

In this Bible study, you'll embark on a journey that will lead you from receiving Christ's intercession to interceding with Christ. Staton will unpack the Lord's Prayer into four core practices: adoration, confession, petition, and intercession. But it all starts with the profound realization that Jesus is interceding for us, by name, right now.
