Sundays in Worship  10:15am

Fear shows up a lot in the Christmas story—but so does faith.
This Advent season at MVPC, we’ll listen again to the angels’ timeless message: “Fear not, for I bring you good news!” Each week, we’ll look at a different encounter where God’s message of courage broke through fear and uncertainty:

  • Luke 1:5–17 – Fear not, Zechariah: When the angel appears to Zechariah with news that he and Elizabeth will have a son—John, who will prepare the way for the Lord—Zechariah learns that God is at work even when hope feels long gone.

  • Matthew 1:18–25 – Fear not, Joseph: Joseph faces confusion and doubt, yet the angel’s words lead him to embrace his part in God’s redemptive plan. His obedience reminds us that courage often looks like quiet faithfulness.

  • Luke 1:26–33 – Fear not, Mary: A young woman receives an impossible promise—that she will bear the Son of God. In Mary’s faithful “yes,” we see how trust in God can overcome the unknown.

  • Luke 2:8–20 – Fear not, Shepherds: To ordinary shepherds keeping watch, heaven opens with good news of great joy. Their story reminds us that God’s message of peace is for all people.

Join us each Sunday as we prepare our hearts to celebrate the birth of Jesus—the One who drives out fear with His perfect love.

Advent Devotional

"Awake, Awake"

Help to prepare your heart this Christmas season by focusing on our Lord Jesus Christ.

Adult Devotional is provided by Frontier Fellowship.

As we prepare our hearts for Christmas through our annual Advent devotional, we are excited to share with you this year’s theme of “Awake”. It is a fitting theme for us this year as we have had the joy of seeing the Church being “birthed” all across the mission frontier where the gospel continues to advance.

Our prayer for you and your families this Advent season is that the Lord might “awaken” you, too. May our encouragement to engage your five senses in this year’s devotional help you discover the mystery and marvel of the Incarnation in some fresh, new, and unexpected ways.

Alternative Giving

Once again, the Mission Committee will sponsor an Alternative Giving Campaign, offering meaningful gift options that support people in need—an alternative to traditional holiday shopping. Give in honor of family and/or friends while making a real difference in someone’s life.
