Paul wrote his Letter to the Romans several years before the Four Gospels were written in the last decades of the first century. In his letter, he spells out the deepest meaning of those soon-to-be-written works – namely that through the Father’s love, Jesus’ Passion, and the Spirit’s Application of the work of Christ, we human beings can have a right relationship with God by faith alone. If this is true, it is, of course, very good news.”

Our primary source will be the book itself, but RC Sproul’s expositional commentary (The Righteous Shall Live By Faith) will be our primary guide. MVPC's Christian Education Committee will make copies available for your purchase - Please contact Kimberly Caldwell our Connections Coordinator to get your copy ordered.

I also recommend that you purchase one of the following more textual commentaries as an additional resource: Romans: God’s Good News for the World by John Stott; Paul’s Letter to the Romans by Colin G. Kruse; The Epistle to the Romans by Leon Morris; or The Letter to the Romans – a Short Commentary by Frederick Dale Bruner. (There will be made available in the MVPC library 2 copies of each book for you to borrow if you like.)
